Gas fireplace insert installation cost — Des Moines, IA

Last updated: September 24, 2026

What affects the price

When you budget for a new fireplace, the final number depends on several moving parts. Choosing between a simple electric insert and a complex gas or wood-burning setup changes labor needs significantly. If your home already has a chimney or gas line, costs stay lower. If we need to run new venting, cut into walls, or add custom stonework, the labor and material requirements increase. Every home layout is unique, and we look at your specific space to provide a plan. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

About this service

Installing an insert means placing a new firebox into an existing masonry fireplace. Costs vary based on the size of the insert, the condition of your existing chimney, and whether a new chimney liner is required for proper venting. The final total depends on the specific requirements of your chimney and the gas hookup needed. Exact pricing confirmed free on the call.

Installing during the summer is a smart way to prepare for the colder months ahead. While it may seem counterintuitive to think about fire when it is hot outside, this is often the best window to get better pricing on units and shorter wait times. Your fireplace will be ready to go the moment the first chilly evening arrives.
